iTeos Therapeutics is now a world-class biotech in cancer immunotherapy. To carry on its growth, expand its pipeline and reinforce its team, iTeos Therapeutics is looking for a Research Assistant - Tumor immunology.

ROLE:  Research Assistant – Tumor immunology (Translational Medicine) - Belgium  

Within its Translational Medicine Department, iTeos is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant that will work in close collaboration with Institute Jules Bordet. The successful candidate will unveil the complexity of the tumor microenvironement and its immunosuppressive condition  with a focus on our targets and their specific pathways. In this role, the candidate will work independently and as part of a team to set-up multiplex IHC panels and generate robust mIHC data packages, helping to guide decision making and timely progression of our programs. He/she will also participate to the collection, processing and analysis of biological material from cancer patients. The labs (iTeos and Institut Jules Bordet) are equipped with state-of-the art technologies to study models of immunology and cancer.They are also equipped with an automated platform for IHC and mIHC to study complexity of cancer tissues. 
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Research Assistant eager to contribute in a meaningful way to the development of innovative IO drugs for cancer patients.


  • Develop, validate and perform multiplex panels for our different clinical and pre-clinical programs. It is expected that this role will entail 80% lab based activities. 
  • Collect, process and analyse biological material from cancer patients from Institut Jules Bordet (Blood, ascites or tumors)
  • Provide key data to support timely decisions all along the program  development,   biological rational for clinical trial design and mode of actions of our drugs.
  • Recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.
  • Compile, summarize and critically analyse data in order to present them at project team meetings. 
  • Actively collaborate with other teams in the company & our collaborators and contribute to the positive work atmosphere within the group.  

This position requires to work around 60% at Institut Jules Bordet site (Molecular Immunology Unit, Willard-Gallo lab, Brussels) and 40% at iTeos Belgium site (Gosselies).


  • Master degree in Life Sciences, Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or closely related field 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in the biotech/pharma industry or in a similar academic position.
  • Hands-on expertise in immunohistochemistry (antibody qualification, IHC/IF) and/or multiplexing IHC/IF is required.
  • Image analysis of mIHC/IHC is a plus (such as Inform or Visiopharm).
  • Hands-on experience in processing  immune cells (isolation, culturing of primary immune cells) and multicolour flow cytometry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cytometry softwares such as Diva and FlowJo  is a plus.
  • Good command of English (oral and written).
  • Autonomous, flexible, committed, detail-oriented with a strong sense of time management. 
  • Team spirit, an inquisitive mindset with strong problem-solving skills are essentials.
